This was my first eye cream purchase.
Never again will I purchase an eye cream this expensive. To be honest, when I bought this, I was in a weird phase where I thought the best practice was to just throw as much cash at one product because that’s what would make it a good one? And to be fair, I do think that most of the time, products are priced generally fairly i.e. the price reflects things like ingredients, sourcing of ingredients, general work conditions, etc.
Obviously, this isn’t totally accurate and there are a bunch of nuances I’m still learning about.
Now, why will I not be purchasing an eye cream this expensive (at least in the near future)?
a) I can’t afford it.
b) I don’t need to.
The Eye Cream
The reason I say I don’t need to is because this eye cream just didn’t do it for me. (I ended up giving it to my sister, who actually does like it!)
For reference, my skin type is dry (eczema)/sensitive/prone to acne.
Unfortunately, I find that the cream dries my eye area out. Dry patches galore. It either causes them or exacerbates them. When I stop using it, they calm down and go away.
I love the smell of this cream. It’s delicious and I wish I could use it just for that. In terms of brightening, I can’t really speak to it accurately because I’ve only used the cream on and off and I’ve been distracted by the aforementioned negative.
I’m trying to convince my sister to start a blog ): Maybe she could share her positive experience with this stuff! 😛
On the other hand, I have been using an Ole Henriksen Foam Cleanser for the past year and I love it. Review on that to come.
I’m curious what other people think of this eye cream, so do leave your comments! If you can recommend any other eye creams — preferably more affordable ones — please let me know!
