I started using Poshmark about 2 months ago and quickly became addicted.
Poshmark is a community-based marketplace for old and new clothing, accessories, household items, and so on. Buyers and sellers follow each other, so it becomes easy to find individual stores or “closets” you really like and trust. Not only is it easy to sell your old clothes, but it’s also an amazing place to find absolute gems for incredible prices. It pains me to go buy clothes anywhere else now. At least something has curbed my Aritzia addiction.
I’ve since sold quite a few of the stuff I don’t use, and picked up some amazing vintage and designer pieces at prices that can really only be considered theft.
Because I no-lifed it for the past 2 months, I’ve already reached Poshmark Ambassador status and have been granted access to their affiliates program.
What is a Poshmark Ambassador?
Essentially, it’s like being a Top-Rated Seller on eBay. The main thing is that you are recommended to new users which means getting an influx of followers, and in theory, more sales (more on that later).
How effective being a Poshmark Ambassador is in any way, I have yet to see.
As stated on Poshmark:
Posh Ambassadors are expected to:
-Maintain an active closet
-Participate in the Poshmark community
-Provide great customer service
-Be in good standing with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service
Posh Ambassador benefits:
– Get recommended to new Poshers
– Receive an exclusive newsletter
– Unlock access to fun programs and opportunities
To become a Posh Ambassador, you must meet a criteria based off a number of things, including engagement, rating, sales, and a history of spreading Posh Love.
To qualify, you must meet all of the criteria below:
-Community Shares: Share at least 5,000 items from other Poshers’ closets
-Self-Shares: Share your own items at least 5,000 times to the community
-Available Listings: Have at least 50 available listings in your closet
-Listings Sold: Make at least 15 sales
-Average Rating: Have an average rating of at least 4.5 stars
-Average Ship Time: Have an average ship time of less than 3 days
Since becoming a Poshmark Ambassador, my follower count has been increasing at pretty much a constant rate. I was at approximately 1000 and after a few days, the number went up by a few thousand. Still counting.
Although having more followers means more exposure, my ambassadorship has so far not really resulted in more sales or anything. I don’t think there is a trick to that. It’s simply a matter of having things people want or not. *shrug* But of course, more exposure is always good.
Regardless, I encourage you to check out Poshmark if you’re into thrifting, vintage items, designer for less, or getting your clothes shopping done at a cheaper price.
