Review: Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Toner

About

The Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Toner contains conditioning ingredients such as sodium hyaluronate, centella asiatica extract (popular in KBeauty), and panthenol (pro vitamin B5), as well as, of course, ceramide.

It has that sort of earthy, medicinal smell that most Dr. Jart products seem to have but it dissipates quickly.

While this toner is free of parabens, sulfates, and silicones, it is not alcohol-free. Personally, I find higher levels of alcohol in products does tend to cause more harm than good for me. Alcohol can be irritating to dry and sensitive skin types.

Overall, it’s best to avoid products with alcohol, especially now that it’s so easy to find stuff without it; that being said…I like this toner, and I’ll explain why.

Review

First, the consistency is smooth and thicker than your average watery toner. You can apply it as a lotion or apply it to a cotton pad and swipe over your face. I personally prefer to just apply it to my face with my hands to get as much out of it as possible.

I really am finding this to be a great hydrating toner. It soothes and keeps my eczema flare-ups away. HOWEVER, I did find that during my trial use, I had eczema flare-ups on my eyelids, and though they were relatively minor, that did confuse me. I guessed it could be the alcohol in the product, BUT, now I am 99% sure that it was actually the work of my cleanser. When I switched back to my “holy grail” cleanser (Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip), my flare-ups went away. SO, be sure to really analyze your entire routine.

In this case, the alcohol in the product does not seem to bother my skin. On the contrary, my skin has been LIVING thanks to this immediately moisturizing toner. The best part is that my skin feels good and moisturized for the rest of the day. I use it with the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream and they make a great duo.

Do you have any recommendations for moisturizing toners?
