Review: Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel

My skin concerns: Bumps/uneven texture, Eczema

Pricing ranges from $8.95 CAD for 100ml to $49.95 for 1000ml.

This is a vegan product from the cruelty-free brand Lush. It is free of parabens, silicones, and alcohol.

It is not sulfate-free (contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate).

It also contains fragrance.

This is currently my favorite shower gel and I have been using it for the last 9 months.

I received the 1L bottle as a birthday gift from family and have been sharing it with my sister. Now on our 9th month of use, we have only just reached the half-way mark of the bottle. A little bit goes a long way with this stuff!

I love this shower gel for a few reasons — the color, scent, and that its softening and gentle.

The color is a beautiful, deep, rich red that makes showering that much more interesting, and the scent is a beautiful rosey smell mixed with Lush’s own notes and things added in.

I fell in love with the smell immediately; I think it’s actually incredible.

A lot of people find that it doesn’t smell like “roses”, but that it’s sweet and good; however, as someone who complains a lot about the weird ass scents at Lush, this is one that I find is pretty much what it says it is: rose jam. It’s not overly sweet and vanilla because it’s balanced by the sharpness of the rose oil.

My one gripe is that I wish the scent lasted after the shower.

Most importantly, this shower gel cleanses without being harsh or irritating. This hasn’t caused any itching or issue, but has actually been working great over the last year as part of me healing my itchy, eczema flare-ups (especially on the back of my knees). I find that it consistently keeps my skin feeling soft and overall healthy.

Thanks for reading ❤

  1. Interesting! I have tried another shower gel from LUSH but I didn’t like the application (I found the bottle too hard to try and squeeze anything out after a certain point.)

Have you by any chance tried Oaty Dreamy Creamy by LUSH too? That’s what I use for my skin on a weekly basis which helps with my psoriasis and keeping it at bay. It’s really comfortable to use and I love the lather!

    1. I agree the application is annoying…I have the massive 1L bottle which makes it worse lol.

Haven’t tried that one but it sounds perfect for me because I’ve been having annoying eczema all over my arms lately. I’ll check it out, thank you!!
