Review: Eminence Apricot Whip Moisturizer

I have a new favorite moisturizer. One that works right upon application to moisturize and hydrate even the driest of skin, the flakiest of patches, and most riled up of eczema flare-ups. One that keeps them away for a good while.

I recently did a huge Eminence haul from TheFacialRoom and as a result I received the Apricot Whip Moisturizer free with purchase. I love it so much that I want to review it first.

I know a lot of people haven’t heard of the brand, but Eminence Organics are sold and used in spas all over the world.

This moisturizer comes in a 60ml jar and retails for $59 CAD.

This is listed as being for normal to dry skin types.

My skin type: Mostly normal with dry patches and occasional minor acne.

Vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, silicone-free, alcohol-free*.

*(this means that the organic alcohol you may see in the ingredients i.e. benzyl alcohol occurs naturally in fruits; in other words, no “bad” alcohols)

Contains moisturizing and conditioning ingredients good for dry skin such as squalane, vitamin E, glycerin, vitamin A (anti-aging), and shea butter.

Also a source of Vitamin C (brightening) and lactic acid (exfoliating).

Ingredients listed on the box.

There is a peachy, apricot scent to the moisturizer but the scents in all Eminence products are from natural sources (i.e. plants, fruits, etc.).

Overall, I think this is packed with an incredible bunch of ingredients. It might be risky to those with oilier skin types. I’d really only recommend this to normal to dry skin types, as well as more mature skin types. While I am prone to minor acne, I didn’t experience any issues with the product.

This moisturizer has amazed me with how quickly it heals dry skin. You know how so many moisturizers end up feeling thin on the face? And leaving that slippery, thin layer on the top of your skin that takes forever to absorb, and you just know it’s not going to help the dryness? That it won’t do shit to the flaky, rough bits?

The Apricot Whip Moisturizer doesn’t do any of that. It’s so thick and opulent that it immediately — and I mean immediately — soothes and softens my dry, flaky patches so that I barely feel them. Within a few hours, those rough patches are literally gone. And stay away.

It’s actually so thicc that you are even instructed to dilute it with water. You can add water to emulsify a tiny bit of product and then apply it; you really only need a tiny amount for your whole face! Because of this, it should last you a long time.

I found that on drier days when my face was ultra picky, I didn’t like adding water. But now I’ve found a happy medium of emulsifying a bit of product, but adding extra to more dry spots.

Those with oily skin might find this would be best as a night cream! However, depending on how much water you add, you can really customize it to your liking.

Worth it?

So is it worth the hefty price? Well, it works faster and more effectively than any other moisturizer I’ve used to date, including my family’s one-and-only, decades-old champion Nivea. And you only need a teeny bit of product. So uh….YEAH, it’s worth it. I will pay good money for an amazing moisturizer that WORKS, and this is the one so far. When my face is ultra sore and uncomfortable and tight, I know what to turn to. Thank you, Eminence.
