Laneige Water Sleeping Mask (70ml) | $33 CAD at Sephora
My skin type | Combination: Dry spots on the eyelids, undereye, surrounding lip area; occasional acne + oily t-zone; otherwise normal.
Pros | It works. Gets rid of dry patches, affordable, smells great.
Cons | None really. Slight fragrance (if you’re sensitive to that).
Ingredients
Not a very impressive ingredient list. It includes some sketchy stuff like alcohol and fragrances. It also includes silicones, which some people are sensitive to.
On the positive side, it includes hydrating ingredients like sodium hyaluronate and glycerin.
My Experience
This product surprised me and changed my opinion on face masks all together.
I initially got a small (~15ml) sample of this from Sephora when I made a purchase last year and considered it a novelty and didn’t expect much. However, this overnight skin mask surprised me (ironically, by doing exactly what it claims). The little sample lasted me about 1.5 months, too.

The first time I tried it overnight, I noticed the next morning that my skin felt hydrated and my dry spots were not as bad.
I used it every night for about a week and my dry spots were gone. Ceased to exist.
Application and How-to
The instructions state that you are to use the mask 1-2 times a week, so I definitely went overboard when I first began using it (every night), but I felt that it was gentle enough for me to do so and the extra doses really helped to moisturize my skin and heal the dry, flaky parts.
After I finished my sample and felt my skin was healed, I bought the full-size version and used it about 4 times a week. Now that I am happy with my skin, I only use it if my dry spots re-appear (usually due to allergies and seasonal changes).

Apply it as a final step to your skincare routine or right before you go to sleep (and try not to skip the moisturizer, in my opinion). It dries down fast, and there is no stickiness. There can be some tackiness depending on how much you apply; a little goes a long way! I apply extra on very dry spots.
Final Thoughts
This mask has helped keep my flaky, eczema spots at bay and heal them when they appear. Initially, I found that I needed to use it more often to keep my skin flake-free and soft. Now that my skin is healthier and overall more hydrated, I don’t need to use it as often.
I think it’s an affordable mask; you get a generous amount at $33 CAD and it lasts a long time. I’ve had my full-size mask for about 5 months now and still have about 30% left.
I’ll be sure to always have a jar on hand!
